Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I want a Sammy Sac?

All dog owners know it’s their job to bag and bin their dog’s poo - dog poo left in public places is both unhygienic and illegal. However, while bagging the poo is easy, finding a bin often isn’t. You’re left using up a hand to carry a thin bag of dog poo that is vulnerable, and stinks! A Sammy Sac seals away the stink, and frees your hand. Once you find a bin you empty the Sammy Sac. However, it works so well it’s easy to forget there’s a bag of poo in there.

How does it work?

Bag it - pick up your dog’s poo as you would normally - with a disposable bag - and tie it tightly shut.

Sac it - put the disposable, sealed bag of dog poo inside the Sammy Sac. Roll the bag closed, and clip it to your lead. Enjoy your walk!

Bin it - when you come across a bin, or when you get home, empty the Sammy Sac, putting the disposable sealed bag(s) of dog poo in the bin. Any general waste bin will do - it doesn’t have to be a dog waste bin.

Clip your empty Sammy Sac back on your lead, ready for your next walk.

How big is the bag?

As it’s made of pliable polyester, the bag can grow and shrink as you need it. An open, flat Sammy Sac is roughly the size of A4 paper (a little shorter, a little wider). When the bag is sealed, by rolling down the top band before clipping, it is roughly the size of a greetings card. I roll it down three times, but that’s because I want the logo in full view ;). It can be rolled between two and four times and still seal, with space for bags of poo.

In terms of volume, it fits up to five bags of dog poo from a Cockapoo.

It rolls up fully, and can be shoved in a pocket if necessary.

Is it washable?

You shouldn’t need to wash it much, as its purpose is to carry sealed, disposable bags of dog poo. However, you can hand wash it. Machine washing damages the reflective strip.

Is it reusable?

Absolutely! Use it every time you go for a walk. Keep your walk smelling fresh and your hands free.

What is it made of?

It’s made of polyester and has waterproof seals over the stitched edges, to keep that smell locked away.

Why should I pick up my dog’s poo?

Dog poo is sticky, and it stinks. You always know when you’ve stepped in, or rolled a wheel over it, as it’s tough to get off. Though you normally smell the stink before you see it.

Unless your dog is pooing on your own land, you have a legal responsibility to clear up your dog’s poo. Leaving it for someone else to walk in (or worse their child to walk or fall in) just isn’t cricket!

Owning a dog comes with many pleasures but a handful of responsibilities - not leaving their poo in public places is one of them.
